Kai | Denver Senior High School | Class of 2023

Welcome back to The Blog! Today we spotlight Class of 2023 SRD Senior, Kai Cowell!

Kai was the next C/o 2023 SRD Starlet Squad member to do their Senior Experience session. I have known Kai for years through theater and mutual acquaintances, and I was ecstatic to be his Senior photographer! His session was such a blast, because we got to travel to so many different unique locations, capturing a wide variety of awesome looks. We started the chilly September day at one of my favorite locations, taking advantage of all of the gorgeous natural light, graffiti, decay, and overgrowth. Next, we travelled to the UNI campus, which gave us ample opportunity to diversify our surroundings. Kai got to play in the fallen leaves, celebrate his Trans Pride, and hangout outside the botanical garden with his partner, Hunter. (Their photos together are too precious!) We stayed on campus, but Kai changed outfits to celebrate his acceptance into UNI with a vintage crewneck and the Campanile in the distance. Finally, we stopped by a park in Cedar Falls for more lush early Fall foliage and some cool shots at the old stone fish hatchery.
