Howdy! My name is Shelby. I live in Cedar Falls, IA with my two adorable cats. My home is a hodge-podge of oddities, thrift store knick-knacks, locally crafted art, and pet fur.

Fun Facts!

• I'm a lifelong theater kid!
• I'm a collector of MANY things; antique books, scrunchies, music boxes, washi tape, vinyl records, and more. I collect collections!
• I don't like coffee, but sign me up for a chai latte any day!
• I am thrift store obsessed! I have to find at least one on every road trip.
• I'm a cat person, but I can't resist announcing the passing of every dog I see.
• I will spontaneously break into song and dance anywhere, anytime. No music required.

Education & Awards

I graduated from Hawkeye Community College with an AAA in Professional Photography, emphasis in Portraiture, in 2020 and opened SRD Photography LLC the same year. During my time at Hawkeye, I was awarded the ACI Gold Award, the Tony Finch Memorial Scholarship, Top Portrait Portfolio, and 4th Place in the 2020 Fall Photography Department Print Competition. At the 2020 Professional Photographers of Iowa (PPI) Winter Print Competition, I earned 5th place in the Student category and the Lou Garcia Award. My work has also been nationally featured by Senior Year Magazine and Senior Style Guide and published in Senior MUSE Magazine and Senior SZN Magazine. SRD Photography was honored to be named "Top 100 Photographers I'd Like to Follow in 2022" by Senior Inspire Magazine.
