Welcome back to The Blog! Today we spotlight Class of 2023 SRD Senior, Bella Deleon!

Where to begin with Bella? She and I met when we were co-workers at the Heart Center for the Arts last summer, and I was over-the-moon when her family reached out to me for her Senior photos! Bella is such a kind, creative soul, I just knew her session would be a knock-out - I was not disappointed! We spent the day primarily in Waterloo but did end in Cedar Falls for a few natural locations. The day started downtown, pairing brick and rust and vines with Bella's green and brown graphic top and jean skirt. Next, she changed into a simple black dress and black hat. We found an empty brick wall and with a little Photoshop magic, I was able to add a few of her favorite art pieces to the wall as a giant mural! Bella tossed on a pick and black cardigan over her dress and me moved on to a painted mural wall for a splash of color. After that, we visited an old building I have used a few times for photos, emphasizing the graffiti areas and striking natural light. Next, it was off to Cedar Falls to play amongst the flowers in my favorite little garden. Bella's pastel slip dress and crochet shrug were so perfectly paired here. Finally, Bella changed back into her jean skirt, this time with a white tee and an embroidered denim vest, for our last location. This one is always a favorite of mine, because I am constantly finding new little spots and ways to use the space. Bella used a bouquet of fresh flowers as a prop here, which brough the perfect pop of color to break up the greenery. We had so much fun throughout her day, and her session was definitely a highlight!
